oh please . . . oh please . . . I really think I'm about to get a good job. Lovely office with big windows, great location, doable work, people seem fine, really decent pay and benefits. I will hear from them next week. They looked at a lot of resumes and apparently mine was the best. Three people talked to me and I got the impression that if my refs are fine they won't bother with interviewing anybody else. I hadn't listened to any Supertramp in years, so I loaded up the mp3 player and hit the treadmill. Blech! It was so saccharine that even Journey would have been better. I couldn't even listen to "Bloody Well Right". The experience has been very similar to when I got so hungover from Southern Comfort that I haven't been able to drink the shit since.
Kickball season is over after a mere five games -- I think we were s'posed to have nine games, but the league couldn't reserve the fields -- and we missed the playoffs.

I live with a horse. Samson is a 7-month old great dane. He weighs 87 pounds and gains about 3 pounds a week. He belongs to the roommates but he is an equal opportunity moocher. That shoe is size 10 1/2.

Rejecting a prosecution request for a severe sentence, a panel of military officers sentenced the convicted former driver for Osama bin Laden to five and a half years in prison on Thursday. ... The unexpectedly short sentence came after Mr. Hamdan was acquitted Wednesday of the most serious charge against him, conspiracy, having been convicted only of material support for terrorism.
Somehow this feels like the tiniest flash of a less-appalling future, that we in the US may yet survive these years, and rejoin some semblance of civilization.

flick? My folks took me to see it in the theater when I was eleven. It's one of the best low-budget films ever.
A plain white box truck has been "parked" (stored) in our parking lot for weeks. (An HOA no-no.) This morning when we walked the pooches, someone had sprayed in black, MCCAIN '08 on 3 sides. There was also a note from property management under the wiper blade, presumably telling them to move it.
