Paris Hilton for President Just remember, it was McCain's idea.
President of what? Idiotstan? Imbecilia? Dopeovia? the Moronic Republic?

I blame Paris for the proliferation of bug-eyed sunglasses.

She wouldn't really be much dumber than the current one.

Well, no, it's not really McCain's idea, but it is much better than McCain's actual idea. Lately, I think any idea is better than McCain's actual ideas, and McCain is one of the most enlightened of the bunch. I'm beginning to really hate that bunch. Maybe it's time to consider Hillary's brand of conservativism*, jump right over that third-party bullshit, and contend directly for first party, leech out the bit of intelligence that remains on the right, Bill would look good in a gown although applying his foundation would be tricky...

E.P.I.P.H.A.N.Y.

* As opposed to conservationism, the word I mistakenly used during high school in an essay for a college grant.

That was a lot funnier than I expected it to be.

This is good. If a Paris Hilton must exist, then she should at least be put to good use.

Wait...this dude McCain is running for president? You mean the guy from all those Daily Show, Leno, Letterman and SNL appearances? I thought he was just jockeying to be the next Ed McMahon.

McCain did a cameo on 24?

You mean the guy from all those Daily Show, Leno, Letterman...

No! The guy that makes the cheap processed frozen food! You know, for kids!

As a very serious Republican told me on my local paper's website today, making fun of McCain is avoiding debating the issues.

Apparently, however, bringing tire gauges to McCain rallies is very serious politics.

"making fun of McCain is avoiding debating the issues."

That has become a mantra but more than just a few Republicans are very frustrated with how both the right and the left are presenting themselves online. Any real debate virtually anywhere is drowned by the cheerleading from either side.

Both parties are paying some lipservice to bloggers, and most attention goes to bloggers who deal strictly with regional issues. Only a few of the biggest bloggers on national issues are getting access, but the travel is on their personal dime.

I think the future role of blogs in politics will remain more of a publicity and media relations nature, and with little or no influence on policy decisions. There's just too much noise.

I can't believe my loathing of her actually just dropped a little bit. That made me laugh.

Agreeing with BoPo. She's making fun of herself and McCain. It has left me a little...confused.
