The Swimmer is on TV here now. [More:]
Ever seen it?
Awesome movie; I've seen it so many times over the years as it always seems to be on in the middle of the night, when I'm in the perfect mood for it.
1968. Burt Lancaster is this whacked out guy who's at a party and decides to swim home, going from pool to pool via all the neighbours' backyards, crashing all their waspy parties and revealing his life story along the way.
It's totally bizarre and cheesy and could never be from this generation.
I saw it years ago and remember how weird I thought it was at the time, but in a good/weird way.

Oh! I've read that short story. Philip Roth? I'm not sure. What a strange idea to make it into a movie. I had no idea.

Great. They'll probably do a re-make and it will star Michael Phelps.

Michael who?

Thankfully UK news coverage is dominated by Britain's own swimming champion.

All this uncertainty bugs me || A friend gave me an Obama T-shirt.
