My sweetie and I are thinking of adopting a bun. Can the bunnies help us with suggestions for a name for her?
that is a gert.

Hmm. Gert seems so butch. She's a wee little critter.

I associate the name Gert with this lady, CEO of a local company, and landlord of my former office. The architecture firm leased 2 floors in her building in downtown Portland. (my window was the one near the leasing agent's sign)

Also, your tips on caring for a bun would be much appreciated!

I was gonna say Dorian Gray, but since it's a girl, maybe Alice? Or Nibbles?

(I babysat a bunny for a weekend once, and all it did was eat and make jelly beans, so maybe Mrs. Jelly Beans?)

Oh, and for bunnycare, I'm your source- would you like to keep Ms. Grey in a cage or have her roam free? I have a dwarf also (their ears never grow but their butts do!) and he roams my office and room but is not allowed in the bathroom or kitchen or coat closet when I am not there.
For the first few days, you should probably cage her and only let her out when you are there so you can watch her and make sure you can tap her on the nose when she goes near wires or tries to chew things.
This is also a good time to see which corner of the cage she uses as a toilet and put a litterbox there 1/3 filled with Yesterday's News pellets. Then put a few of her poops in it so she gets it by smell and sight as well as location.
You know what? I think I wrote this all before plus stuff about food... one sec... here it is!
There is some good info in that thread.

One more thing- definitely spay her if you don't plan to breed her soon. Lady bunnies tend to get ovarian cancer with alarming frequency.

In Spanish, rabbit is conejo...and your rabbit is realllly small so: El Conejito!

You could also append a rhymey first name: Paco Conejito, Memo Conejito, Nacho Conejito...

Update: we brought her home this evening!

So far, Alice and Bianca are our top choices for a name.
