Ok, I'm up too late and am listening to music drunk. For those of you also prone to doing this, what was your last late-night music obsession? Mine (tonight) is Pet Sounds.
I'm on like my 4th listen through the CD, and this is the version that has the stereo version followed by the mono version, so I've actually heard it eight times in a row now.

I was following 80s-90s euro music clips on youtube. Rita Mitsouko - Marcia Baila. I like her accent. It is probably meant to be an argentinian accent.

I loved Les Rita Mitsouko back in the 80s... I had no idea they'd done so many songs since "C'est Comme Ca."

Springsteen (big surprise), "Radio Nowhere," and "Girls In Their Summer Clothes." "Radio..." in particular is a great late night song.

I also thoroughly Rita Mitsouko dug back in the 80s. They were fun as hell and I really thought they were going to cross over in the states.

As for late night listen, 2 nights ago I sat in bed with the headphones on playing Neko Case's "Fox Confessor...", which is a great headphones album.

I think the last time I was up late and drinking, I was listening to Radio BoPo.

That is incredibly appropriate.

Dude - Pet Sounds is fucking awesome, and you don't even have to be up drunk to say so.

I loves me that entire album. I've heard it hundreds of times, and each time it's like the first listen.

I'm also on the verge of discovering what the hell the big deal is about the Kinks. I heard some early stuff by them this weekend and was floored.

Last time I did this I was scrolling through a bunch of Richard Thompson. Then I listened to "Heartbeats" that Jose Gonzales recorded, you know the one for the bouncy ball Sony ad (yeah, I'm commercial...). Then I put the itunes on shuffle while I puttered about, and came across some really cool songs I almost forgot about. "Marie" a bass solo off of John McLaughlin's "Que Alegria", some Steve Tibbets songs, a Richard Thompson acoustic version of "Outside of the Inside" which gave me goosebumps. There was some nostalgia at the punk sound of early Violent Femmes. Burning Spear. Old Peter Gabriel. Man that was a night, and what a great hangover...
