Norm MacDonald pulls no punches at the Bob Saget roast →[More:]I seriously hate these Comedy Central roasts—I find them bloated, predictable, and unfunny. Rote vulgarity seems to be the order of the day, but rarely is it done with any style or wit.
Norm MacDonald's set was the only truly subversive bit of the night, and predictably, it was not well-received (at least by the audience—the other comics, in general, seemed to get it.) I've still never forgiven Lorne Michaels for firing this guy from SNL back in the 90s. In my opinion, he was the funniest Weekend Update anchor person the show ever had.
