I know Synchronised Swimming is difficult and everything, but man, it just looks plain weird.
Totally. Maybe some mild mind altering would help, but how sad would that be. "Yeah, I'm just trippin' watching some Olympics. . .no, just me, right here on the couch."
I remember it was a Friday. I was coming home. My wife, Abby, asked me, "Honey, is there something wrong?" And I said, "No, there's nothing wrong. I've made a decision. I'm leaving the accounting firm, and Lawrence and I are gonig to pursue a dream that we have, and that basically synchronized swimming is going to be our lives for the rest of this century."
You know what sport I just learned I enjoy watching? Synchronized diving. Or do they just call it pairs diving? Anyway, I like it. Among other reasons, the people say 'One, two, three, go!' (or appropriate international variant) at the beginning, and I love that.
Asynchronous swimming would be cool. Like those telepathy tests, can they keep time when in separate pools across town from each other? Or I guess that wouldn't be asynchronous then...
I concur, chewatdistance- there are other athletes, too, who deserves attention. During the team relays, you're lucky if you even hear the other guys' names.
Synchronized swimming events should all look like this, complete with waterfalls and James Cagney. (The swimming stuff starts about 3 minutes into that clip.)
