PAX is the Penny Arcade Expo, a gaming convention created by these guys. I was at the first one in 2004, but haven't made it back since.

For non-gamers wondering why the crowd is going nuts: it's the song from the end credits of Portal, sung by the computer program that has been running you through the puzzles. And taunting you with promises of cake.

I skipped PAX in favor of Kumoricon, mostly because I haven't played video games since 8-bit days. I would love to have seen JoCo though!
