Tomatoes. One of our neighbors gave us almost a dozen big red tomatoes last week, then over the weekend ANOTHER neighbor gave us a big cupful of cherry tomatoes.

Weeds. I'm not sure how I could be overwhelmed by gardening when I live in an urban townhouse but I seem to be. I spent four hours weeding on Sunday just to beat the damn things back to the point where the neighbors won't complain. The flower garden is 80' long but it's only a foot wide so it's smaller than a 10'x10' plot in area.

Cake.

The Fella made me a birthday cake (golden cake w/ chocolate frosting), my mother made me a birthday cake ginger-lemon w/ cream), and my niece and nephews made me a birthday cake (lemon w/ lemon frosting, topped with voilets, nasturtiums, and "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" spelled out in blueberries) under my sister's watchful eye.

Tomatoes: friend gave me ~10 lbs and I just picked probably another 5. I'll be processing them on Friday.

Beans: aunt gave me a three or four pounds of pole and bush beans. Friend gave me a pound or so of longbeans. I've frozen the longbeans and plan to break out my new pressure canner to give it a shot this Friday as well.

Mosquitos: Every time I go outside I get 10 more bites. Ouchie.

Negativity: eye rolling, bitterness, "can't do" attitude, you name it. Work. Ahhhh!
