Do you miss Muxtape? The RIAA killed it before I had a chance to try it out, but if you have your own webspace you might consider giving Opentape a try.
I've been thinking of trying out a faux-Muxtape using the streaming feature on Divshare. If you put your songs all in one folder, and then send out a link to the first one, people can stream your entire mix. PRO: listeners can also download the songs. CON: you don't have a stable URL people can always check for your latest mix. But, it beats having nothing, for those of us without web space.

I didn't even know there were FIAA issues there. Gave it a quick look only though. Could you really incorporate stuff into a library from muxtape?

To me this sounds like a really bad idea. IMO the reason why muxtape got shut down is because a) they weren't paying licensing fees and b) it was so easy to download the music (first using the muxtape greasemonkey script and more recently using the firebug extension.)

Downloading with firebug work fine with open tape too. Also, you are an easier target for the RIAA if you are serving music off your own server. So unless this sits behind a password and you share it only with friends, you are making yourself a big juicy target for a lawsuit. No thanks.

It could be a good tool for musicians/bands/DJs/etc. who are offering some of their own stuff gratis.

Yeah but bands can just offer a download link without any fuss. There are also plenty of flash interfaces that don't take up the entire page in 14 point Helvetica.
