You kill me. I'm verklempt.
We went out the whole day, and it was a blessed day - very, very unusually, cool for Greece in mid-august, and breezy. It was the best possible day this month to be my birthday. We walked all around with the dog (who was an angel), had lunch under the Acropolis, stopped again in Plaka for a drink, came home and sat in the courtyard for another drink, and now we are cooking steak and mushrooms inside at home, and even though we failed to find a birthday cake (pretty much all non-tourist business being closed in Athens in mid-August), we decided to make our own tomorrow.
Taz birthday to party on... wheee!
Thank you, everybody, so much for your sweet comments; it really fills everything with happy for me. I love you silly bunnies.
I forgot to say that despite not having a birthday cake today, we recently found a place that sells little ice cream sandwiches, a la America, yum, yum, so we are not dessert bereft! For those who might have worried. :)
