Sir kindly to hope me, I am researching internets folklore. There was this thing whereby people would go to MeFi (or maybe MetaTalk) posts that had numbers that were multiples of a certain number added to either 1142 or 9622 or one of those quirky thread numbers, and make them into a quirky thread, with much frivolity/gifs etc. Does this ring any bells? What was the system and where are the threads? ta
So I order far too much food from Magic Oven (pizza joint in Toronto). They have a $3 delivery charge no matter how much you order or where you live which is really lame but the food's real good. Do I have to tip the delivery guy or is that $3 like a built in gratuity thing at fancy restaurants? I normally tip $2 or $3 for food delivery but $6 is absurd and I'm sick of paying it. Thoughts?

. There's something comfortingly wholesome about these pics, both the setting and the era. Although as a historically aware person, I'm aware the ear was a sham, and as a former grocery employee, I realize that supermarkets are dens of insanity.
So my Vegas flight and hotel room is booked... .. and my inner adolescent is plotting a tiresome and juvenile prank. I haven't told my (very conservative) parents I'm going. I thought I'd send them a postcard from Vegas saying, "I'm in Vegas experiencing an Elvis wedding. Who knew!" or words to that effect that will leave them with the impression that I'm the one getting married. My mother will have the freak out of her life. Bwahahahahahahah!

THIS IS A SHOUTING THREAD!
17 September 2006
(Not the ouch-y kind.)
I revile Carthaginians.
Hey--they killed my ma!
First round of the first round of Bookmark Swapsets have been sent! Elsewhere online it was established that you have about 5 more days to get in on the first bookmark swapset. October 7th is the mail-in deadline.
Please send me something interesting I will return this favor someday.
So. Long time lurker, tried to make friends in bunny chat a while back, now sick at home and DP. I made every stop on my short list on the WWW today, and nothing cheered me, not even vintage videos of Yello on YouYube. Please send me somewhere, nubbies. Oh, and I whuffle strangers when I'm drunk. 'lo.
My corner store has an excellent beer selection.
Tonight I purchased a beer called Three Philosophers
. In my fridge, I have a beer that's a tribute to Lenny Bruce
who was something of a philosopher himself. If I drink them both, that's four
philosophers down the hatch. And with all my talking online, I'm something of a philosopher myself, so that makes five philosophers.
Makes you think.
SO HOW DID THE WEDDING OF THE CENTURY GO???????????!!!!!
The Aristocrat We were shooting ‘The Stranger’ in Africa, and in one scene Marcello Mastroianni’s character had to walk on a beach strewn with flowers, and Visconti insisted on a special type of lily, so we had to send someone to Paris to find what he wanted.”

You could call this a miniature bachelor/ette party if you want. Me & Der Pipster will be at Bull McCabe's from about 6pm on today. Some of y'all owe us bon voyage/congratulation drinks. Question about estate agents and ethics

Josh Marshall's eulogy for his father.
From one viewpoint, of limited interest. From another, it seems to me to have a poignancy that makes it larger. Both my parents are still alive. I can see the time coming when this won't be true. I wish people didn't die.

What Jason had for dinner tonight It's rent time and I'm kind of bummed because I have no money. I can't afford to eat at the places where I normally eat.
So I threw together a pork chop, some of last night's red sauce, and a big, runny pile of polenta.
Now I am no longer bummed.
Polenta is good food.
New thing I learned today:
There exists an official Star Wars story
in which Darth Vader's glove
