My one NYC *insider* bit of info I gleaned there was to pronounce Houston like "house" and not like the City of Houston.

That's all I got. Unless someone was pulling my chain, telling me that.

Nope, that was the straight poop, danf. Saying 'hyooston,' is a dead giveaway that one is a tourist.

People always mispronounce "willamette", among other stuff.
