Phlegm-Hawking sounds like the last name of a British Lord. "Gentlemen, have you met Sir Rodney Phlegm-Hawking? He'll be joining us up at the country house next week."
Joe, every Jewish wedding I've ever been to has fit that description. They seem generally to be really heartfelt and fun. And I LOVE the thing with the chair dancing.
Saturday night I was at the wedding of two Jewish friends. The rabbi said an interesting thing about the importance of forgiveness in the faith - that in Judaism, giving forgiveness is as important as asking it. So much so that if someone asks three times to be forgiven for something, and does not receive forgiveness, the burden of the sin transfers to the person who has refused the forgiveness.
There was actually a book with a chart of Best Places To Pick Up A Woman. For a wedding, it said 'Open Bar,' with an asterisk. In the asterisked footnote it said 'For Jewish weddings, substitute dessert cart.'
