tornado outbreak under way [More:]

Mostly north-central Arkansas and eastern Missouri right now. But I expect to see some nasty storms firing along the dryline soon in eastern Oklahoma and moving into this area. Plus if you live in Northeastern Texas, Illinois, western Kentucky, western Tennessee you have a good shot at seeing some action soon. I wish I wasn't coughing my fucking head off, I would hop in the car and drive into Oklahoma. Pretty good setup for some nasty storms today. Oh well.
Gak. Watch out for the big swirlie clouds, were. And I hear you on the cough - feel better. Winding up a cold (I hope) myself here. 'tis the season.

Well, lots of tornado warnings east of here. We just had our first storm for the day at my house. Some trees down just about 1/2 mile northwest of here, lots of twigs down here. Some small hail, wind uprooted a couple of my butterfly bushes (dammit). Rainbow pictures coming in a minute if any were worth a flip.

Eh, not great. But at least I got a few pictures of it before it went away.

Here in Chicago too, were; we just had the warning sirens on.

This midwest weather is freaking me out. In Boston we only have civilized weather, that gives you proper notice before showing up and dumping snow on you.

My semi-Aunt in West Chicago had trees fall on her house and block her street. She and the greyhounds high-tailed it to her daughter's out in DeKalb.

The tail end of that system wacked us at about 10 this morning... heavy rain for about 20 minutes, the sun was out 10 minutes later.
