AskMeCha: Stupid question about editing a couple graphics →[More:]All I need to do is replace the text in this image and this image with new text. Same color, same font. I have a Mac running Tiger.

If someone could tell me what software to download (hopefully for free) and then how to do from there, I'd be eternally grateful.

So far I poked through some AskMe questions and downloaded a simple program called LiveQuartz, but I'm not having luck figuring out what to do with it. I also downloaded Gimp, but I'm already intimidated by it and I haven't even finished the download.

Well, if the font doesn't have to be EXACTLY the same, then you can use Microsoft Paint (although it is a pain).

Ach, you're a Mac user. Mac must have some equivalent free paint program, yes?

mullacc, it's an easy fix in Illustrator. I'm happy to do it for you if you want to email me the graphics and new text.

now someone answer my question - do Mac OS's bundle with a program similar to MS Paint? If so, is it somehow cooler because it's a Mac?

There is no MS Paint in Tiger. You can do basic photo editing [cropping, red eye, adjusting levels] in iPhoto but that's about it.

For mullacc's application there's nothing preloaded. I'm sure there might be a cheap/free way of doing what mullacc needed to do on versiontracker.com.
