Three Things [More:] One: I don't think the 'shuffle' setting on my iPod is actually random. The songs always seem connected in some way. Like it'll be two songs featuring the same session man, or two comedy routines in a row, or last night an old gospel song followed by 60's Jesus-Freak rock. there's some sophisticated AI at work here, I just know it.

Two: Dave Marsh's book Louie Louie is possibly the best rock music book ever on the most important rock song ever (this is true, if you don't like Louie Louie, you don't like rock and roll).

Three: this is the last half-day friday at my job, so I'm doing the only thing I can do: get drunk. Me and Pips will be at Bull McCabe's from around 4:30 onward. All are welcome to drink with us.
I used to have a terrific album of Louie Louie covers. Think I still have a cassette of it somewhere.

I have upwards of 50 versions of Louie, including the original by Richard Berry and the Pharoahs and the salsa song he lifted the riff from, 'Loco Cha Cha,' by Rene Touzet. The song wasn't written so much as it coalesced out of the air like an elemental force.

So you say. I demand YSIs as proof.

I like the Motorhead version myself, if we're talking covers..., oh wait, I thought the Kingsmen, but I bow to your superior knowledge. I wouldn't mind hearing the real original.

Ah, who am I kidding? I just want to hear as many versions as I can.

I gotta go now.

(on preview, congrats, goml, they'll have to call it either Lewy or Louise now. Maybe.)

One, I love working from home.
Two, I fucking hate cheap bastard clients who discount the work we do and REFUSE TO PAY THEIR BILL.

Also, I just ordered my House Of David ballcap. It should be here in 5 to 7 business days. If I can just get the rest of this stuff, I'll be rockin' mad style.

1. It's Friday, but that doesn't mean much to me this week since I've been on vacation all week and don't retun to work until Tuesday. But when I return, it's going to be a hellacious week, so I'm trying not to think about it until then.

2. The guitar line to "Bad News Travels Fast" might be the greatest riff of all the garage revival bands. The only other real contender would be the Lime Spiders' "Slave Girl" or the Mummies "Stronger than Dirt". Or maybe the Fleshtones' "Screaming Skull". Or "Help You Ann" by the Lyres. And what about the Swinging Neckbreakers... OK, there are are LOT of killer garage riffs from the garage revival.

3. Clocks are big, machines are heavy.

1. Friday - working from home!
2. Washing machine repaired, only cost £20.
3. Locksmith drilled out the locks on my security grille (never had a key for it) so now I have this view from my desk instead of the criss-cross of the grille.

1) It has been a bearish mother of a week and it can't end to soon.

2) I lack motivation to get things done, but I have hopes for the future and developing a side business on my road to self-employment.

3) Cartography seems damn interesting to me.

There's a spot at the Bunny Ranch waiting for you in Nevada. Dennis Hof can't wait to give you the once-over. What's that? You thought you were going to Vegas for a vacation?

No rough stuff, alright?

jon - I think there's a randomness setting for the shuffle feature. Tweak that or cut down on the weed.

1. I saw the greatest live tennis match of my life last night, and Agassi at the very near end of his career. Got home at 3am.

2. Get to see live dub (link has auto music) tonight and an old school hip-hop legend.

3. I'll be married in a week and a day. Holee shit! Must finish song for vibes player (it's proven more difficult than I had anticipated. Maybe I'll just tell him to play Louie Louie)

Gayyyyyy pirate.....

1. I'm gonna see Snake on a Plane tonight (I hope). There will be much yelling and possibly some alcoholic beverage smuggling.
2. I keep needing a drill and I don't have one. This is such a problem.
3. Also, I still need a manservant. No, boyfriend != manservant. But it would be nice.
