Wheel-less... for now So after months of procrastinating and finding out that my tire went flat last night, I took action →[More:]and just had my car taken away to the junk yard.

This is a huge burden off of my back because I got sick of paying for car insurance and fixing up the damn thing and paying for registration and gas, etc.

For the first time in my life since I got my license 16 years ago, I have no wheels. :(

But I will survive. I will get out of debt and the instant I finally pay off that damn credit card and get the IRS off my back, I will buy a scooter.

Let's see how long it takes, hmm?

You got your license when you were 13?

I'm tellin' ya - selling my car when I moved to NYC from Baltimore was one of the happier days of recent times. It ran great as well, but the insurance, the gas, the worrying about parking.... gah. It's great to not have a car.

I think if I still lived in London I'd probably not have a car. Out where I live, I couldn't survive for long without one but if I had access to good local public transport, I'd seriously think about doing away with it.
