Ask MeCha: Life as a buddhist vacuum cleaner. What should I do next?
[More:]Today is the beginning of my first week with no attachments. (I quit my job and got dumped by my girlfriend in the same week-- whee!) So what should I do?

The way I see it I have two options:

Option 1: Be healthy and clean: divide my days between excercise, writing and cooking delicious healthy food.

Option 2: Become a total degenerate. Sleep all day, and spend all night sitting in smoky dive bars scribbling in my notebook. Live on whiskey and cigarettes and the occasional sliver of jerky.

Help me decide, metachat!
Depends. Everyone needs to experience Option 2 at some point in their lives, but if you've done that before, you know what it's like and you know how to evaluate the overall thereputic value in the long run for you.

I would probably do Option 1 myself, but, you know, I'm always suspicious when told there are only two options. So what I would probably really end up doing would be combining Option 1 with sleeping late, some junk tv, and a few glasses of wine.
