They remind me of "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint Exupéry. I'm willing to bet that the author of these photos had the same book in mind...

Photojojo had a tutorial about how to make these pics just recently. I still haven't tried it yet. There's also a Flickr group just for these kinds of pics.

Oh that is SO cool. I just made two - they aren't perfect, since the panoramas I had lying around to work with weren't ideal for it, but I can go take more that will be. This is AWESOME and I love it.
