I Might Be On Jeopardy! That is an egregious self link [More:]explaining the email I got this morning to tell me that I qualified to go to Atlanta in October to audition for Jeopardy! Wo0t!!!11!! I am so excited I'm shaking! So help me mecha bunnies - how do I study? What can I do over the course of the next month to better my chances of actually getting on the show? I already dug out my moldy Trivial Pursuit game and I'm going to carry cards with me everywhere - should I read the encyclopedia from A - Z? Is there anything that can combat a lifetime of complete sports ignorance? Damn, I knew I shouldn't have gotten rid of that lovely 1957 World Book that graced our family home in its intellectual white and gold covers. . .
You are SO going to beat that wormy little Ken Jennings' record!!!! You're going to be fabulously rich & famous!! Just don't forget us little people... (no, not dwarfs... just the non-rich & non-famous...)

That's awesome, MGL! I hope you get on. Maybe we could do some kind of study session in IRC where everyone comes prepared to bombard you with questions.

Get your son to help you with your buzzing reflex by practicing with video games (after all, he needs something to do while being grounded for eternity).

Holy crap! That's awesome!

From How To Win On Jeopardy:
Brush up on these topics: state and world capitals, U.S. presidents, Shakespeare's plays, biographies of famous people, world religions, foreign currencies, world leaders, history, geography, literature, mythology, and artists and composers. Read the World Almanac for much of this information.

So I guess it's time to get a copy of the World Almanac.

Awesome! This MeTa thread mentions a whole bunch of MeFites who have been on Jeaopardy - you might want to email them for some pointers.

Congratulations MGL!!

Besides knowing your trivia, I heard it's important to learn how to hit the buzzer quickly. Tell us when you're on!
