Given the playlist, I would vote for a MetaChat member somewhere inbetween San Fran and Colorado :P
posted by funmonkey1 01 September | 13:45
Damn, other than the Lambchop song I would guess that that's my playlist!
posted by Slack-a-gogo 01 September | 13:53
i agree with richat.
posted by gaspode 01 September | 13:53

Is anyone going to hit up and spin the radio Mecha? Or does this thread hold no water?
posted by funmonkey1 01 September | 14:05
It's tough.

Could be mudpuppie (noted some willie nelson sometime back I think) or maybe thepinksuperhero (had Prince earlier).

More clues!
posted by safetyfork 01 September | 14:36
I think mudp too.
posted by iconomy 01 September | 14:46
*makes a sound like a great big buzzer*
posted by mudpuppie 01 September | 14:47
Nope, not mudpuppie. The MetaChatter's username is less than 10 characters long.
posted by cmonkey 01 September | 14:47
Forget the math, man, give us a real clue!

Will guess: essexjan - 9 characters long

The combo of old and new is throwing me. Plus I can legitimately claim to not having heard 4 of these artists.
posted by safetyfork 01 September | 14:51
See what I mean about math! I wish I was that clever.
posted by safetyfork 01 September | 14:53
I guess Richat.
posted by mudpuppie 01 September | 14:56
It is, indeed, richat. Woo, mudpuppie!

Next up:

The Chills - Male Monster from the Id
The Cars - Good Times Roll

Gaspode?
posted by safetyfork 01 September | 15:11
And here I thought I was being enigmatic. Damn.
posted by richat 01 September | 15:12
Are you getting these from last.fm?
posted by matildaben 01 September | 15:12
No, people are emailing them to me, matildaben.

Yes, safetyfork, that one is gaspode! It's interesting how quickly people are able to get these without many clues.

The next one:

Lightning Bolt - "Crown Of Storms"
Sleater-Kinney - "What's Mine Is Yours"
Elvis Costello & The Attractions - "Pump It Up"
Tapes 'n Tapes - "Jakov's Suite"

Slack-a-gogo?
posted by mudpuppie 01 September | 15:18
Nope, not Slack-a-gogo.
posted by cmonkey 01 September | 15:22
Maybe weretable? Or MGL, though she didn't post in the other thread, I can see her liking some of this stuff.
posted by richat 01 September | 15:22
7 Seconds, though? Maybe seanyboy?
posted by box 01 September | 15:24
It didn't help that mine had TWO artists in common with the list I'd just posted publicly! :) I guessed gaspode (just now, reading the thread) for the same reason. I didn't get richat.

Is this most recent one Eidetaker?
posted by BoringPostcards 01 September | 15:26
Woo... for me, Gaspode's give away was the Jesus Lizard, but it really was a sense of the overall list, too.
posted by safetyfork 01 September | 15:32
No, that last one can't be Eidetaker...I've actually heard of almost all of those artists!
posted by richat 01 September | 15:33
No, not Eideteker, seanyboy, weretable, or MGL. This MetaChatter lives (I believe) in NYC.
posted by cmonkey 01 September | 15:35
is it brujita?
posted by Hellbient 01 September | 15:40
Ooh, good possibility, hellbient. I've only been able to think of people who it probably isn't (you included).
posted by box 01 September | 15:44
the Lightning Bolt is throwing me there, though.
posted by Hellbient 01 September | 15:47
Wino?
posted by mudpuppie 01 September | 15:58
dame?
posted by box 01 September | 16:02
No, none of the above so far. Part of their username is also part of the title of a hit single from the 1980s.
posted by cmonkey 01 September | 16:05
Do we have a Gloria? I can't think of a Gloria. What about a Mickey?
posted by mudpuppie 01 September | 16:16

Or maybe mudpuppie? Or Miko?
posted by box 01 September | 16:31
My guess is mudpuppie
posted by Slack-a-gogo 01 September | 16:39
first guess: miko. second: mudpuppie.
posted by Hellbient 01 September | 16:39
I would have guessed MGL, too, but yes, it's really mudpuppie.

This one's a bit tougher, I think:

The Budos Band - Ghost Walk

The JB's - Control
Marvin Gaye - Come Get To This
Ella Fitzgerald - You've Got What Gets Me

No, I haven't snuck my shuffle list in yet :)
posted by cmonkey 01 September | 17:06
I have no clue. I'll guess box.
posted by weretable and the undead chairs 01 September | 17:19
I hope I won't ruin cmonkey's fun when I say that, yep, it's me.
posted by box 01 September | 17:44

damn, I had to leave just after this thread started. I guessed richat immediately reading through. And mudpup (the Steve Earle did it for me). Wouldn't have guessed box (I was leaning towards Miko for some reason). And the final one I have to agree with weretable: hellbient.

man, I wish we'd started this sooner... fun!
posted by gaspode 01 September | 19:24
Yes, it was hellbient. Jeez, you guys are good.

Those last two are hard.
posted by box 01 September | 22:52
I don't get this at all.
