David Lynch's INLAND EMPIRE Along the way we meet a desperate, homicidal woman (Julia Ormond) with a screwdriver embedded in her stomach who later turns out to be Billy’s wife; we keep cutting back to the family of rabbit-heads (one voiced by Naomi Watts) who spout annoying Pinteresque non-sequiturs; and we are introduced to some girls who later turn out to be hookers, and who dance in formation to The Locomotion
It sounds like he's cobbled together some of the short pieces he did for his website. I've got about 8 or 9 of those "Rabbits" shorts on a VCD... they're cool for what they are, but this movie sounds like a mess.

Yeah, but I think you could say that about most of David Lynch's stuff, if you just read a synopsis. I could write a very unflattering review of Mulholland Dr. that would be very deceiving as to the movie's true worth.

Ok, actually reading that review, I don't know what to think.

That's true, muddgirl. And I'm a huge Lynch-head, so I'll be checking it out even if it were to suck.

(I still wish he'd make One Saliva Bubble, though.)

I've always been sort of iffy on David Lynch, but anyone who likes 'The Locomotion,' is OK with me.

I hate it when I get a screwdriver stuck in my stomach.

This reviewer sounds like ones of those people who sincerely believes Eraserhead is a meditation on parental guilt. Those people are assholes.

The description sounds quite good, though I'm kind of regretting reading it now as I wanted to go into this one cold.

The "I've Told Every Little Star" song in Mulholland Dr is one of my favorite parts of that movie.

"I hate it when I get a screwdriver stuck in my stomach."

Here is a man who swallows stuff like that. Look what it did to his stomach. Warning: Gross medical images, and a 9-11 memorial.

Whatever. Dune is the only worthwhile thing Lynch ever made.

Everything else has just been weirdness-for-weirdness'-sake.
