I moved today and it was PAINLESS! Now begins the hell of trying to decide where to put stuff.→[More:]

Seriously, my movers were AWESOME. They moved my two bedroom apartment (second bedroom had office stuff in it) in 2 HOURS. No shit. And that included loading from an apartment that was on the second and third floor (split level) with no elevator, driving to a middle location, getting a couch, and then unloading at the final location. 2 HOURS!

I moved the exact same stuff 6 months ago and it took those movers almost 6 hours!

How fucking kickass is that?!

Yeah, I tipped 'em $60 ($20 each) and the main guy's face lit up like a Christmas tree.

I had a great experience like this once in New Orleans when I used a moving service that was all firemen. On their days off they would switch off working this side business, and they were fantastic. They called themselves "Fireball Moving" :)

Ha, that fireman thing is awesome!

Orange Swan, they're called Deal Movers and the owners name is Dan. The number is 416 822-7409. It's $65 an hour for 2 guys or $10 more for 3 (which I would suggest). There's also a 1 hour charge for travel but all movers I know charge this. So, my move took 2 hours everything in but the bill was for $225.

That's cool Dobbs. I had a similar experience when I Moved into my current house. Cost me like 100 bucks to move across town (small town). They put everything where I wanted it. When I was done I did the same thing you did and tipped em 20 bucks each. Money well spent, and no favor debt to friends with trucks.

You know you're over 30 when your friends won't help you move anymore. For one thing, they've all got back bads from helping you move when you were in your twenties.
