09 September 2006

ow ow ow nothing earth shattering but, I twisted my ankle pretty severly today, if it wasnt for the hiking boots I suspect Id be in the hospital today. So now I'm stuck indoors with the foot up and a buncha ice. *ssssssigh*
Ouch...how did you do it? Don't forget - RICE! Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation.

And then heat after the first 24 hours, I *think*. I'm not sure about that part.

well, no Guiness, but some Summit PA went a treat. This has been the ONLY time I've regreted having a four square house with the bathroom upstairs.

Heat's OK after 48-72 hours, I believe (this means avoiding a very hot shower or bath, too -- warm should be all right, though). Ice will help reduce swelling for at least a couple of days.

Did you know a bad sprain can be more painful than a break? (or so I've heard). Certainly feels that way, though. And like what's been said-ICE! And try to stay off it for a few days-no dancing!
