Foto Phriday It's 'furry friends' this week, right?
Best wishes for your kitty, misteraitch! Maybe some new food or a vitamin shot at the vet would help. He's incredibly cute and cantankerous-looking, and all that long grey fur is great.
Thanks Shane—he was hospitalised for over a week & is now back home on 3 kinds of medication & being hand-fed special food to help him regain the weight he lost. Since he’s been home, he has made some good strides, so we’re hopeful he’s on the mend.
misteraitch - I feel for you, in the past year Chinaski has been to the vet 6 or 7 times to try to fix whatever's wrong with her digestive system, and this week Charlie Hodges had to go in for a different stomach problem. We've become regular consumers of Resolve Carpet cleaner. And we've gotten very good at hiding pills in cat treats, but we still haven't found an ordeal-free way to give her liquid medicine.
Slack-a-gogo—medicating a reluctant cat can be an unequal battle of wills, especially when one’s feline is an evil genius (a pretty common trait in cats, of course). I trust Mr Hodges makes a full & speedy recovery.
I've posted this one before and it's in my flickr stream, but it's just too awesome to resist...
the Bear-Quarium!!! thats Billy on top (brown tabby) and Bear inside (orange tabby). it's not the best photo I have of them for sure, but it is the funniest.
these are the true owners of this household. they make the hairless monkeys they live with do all kinds of crazy stuff.
since we've had storm rain the past couple of days, my dogs are getting cabin fever even though this and this has been going on nonstop for 3 days, back and forth... although every once in a while they'll take a break from it to follow my *every* footstep when I get up. I haven't felt so fascinating since my daughter was a toddler. I'm like their pack jester, no authority- just here for their amusement.
I talk about the dog, the primary pet, mostly. So here is the cat. He is difficult to photograph, due to my lack of skills, his coloring, and attitude. Slade is at least thirteen years old. He has been obese since we got him from the SPCA. He talks like an English schoolboy, thinks Ruth Bader Ginsberg is his grandmother, and enojys Purina OM (obesity management) food, for which we pay out the nose. He is neither smart nor affectionate, but is quite comical, and so, in his way, loved.
Here's my old pal Moondog on our last trip up to the mountains together which was last fall. I love this shot 'cause it shows what a happy fun-loving pooch he was, and he's in his favorite: snow.

This is Charlie, nine years old. He's a sweet cat, but a terrible klutz. And a weinie. ≡ Click to see image ≡
This is Teddy, around eight years old. He was only supposed to visit for a few months.
That was almost seven years ago. ≡ Click to see image ≡
Our pound puppy, Ally. The first song on the radio when we got back in the car after
picking her out was "Sweet Home Alabama", hence her name. ≡ Click to see image ≡
Last but not least, Jersey, our newest foundling.
