So, about this coconut cream... What about this coconut cream? Does anyone know? I bought something called "Coconut Cream" (or actually, "kokoscreme, "creme de noix de coco", or "kokosnusscreme" - which I pretty much figure is "coconut cream")... Now what can I do with it? And how do I keep it?→[More:]

It's not liquid, it's more like a powdery paste, or paste-like powder; it's 100% pure, and not sweet. I bought it to try out in some chicken curry tonight, and it looks like it will last forever. Will it last forever? Do I keep it in the fridge? What fun things can I do with it?

The package instructions aren't much help, since of all the languages they're in, none are English or Greek. Any experiences with something like this?

I think you have the same thing that my housemate uses for cocnut in her stir frys. We keep in the fridge and she mixes a bit with water when she needs coconut milk. We've had the same box forever and she seems to like it.

It can be a euphemism, most definitely.

I would kill for a cup of real cafe au lait right now. Italian style. Not the crap you get at the Starbuck/Coffee and Co./other crappy North American chain.

Absolutely not and yes.

It has a very high protein content so it will go off. Not only fridge it, but I would try and ensure it's in an airtight container. I don't know how long the dried version will last. A month or so I guess...maybe a bit more.

But I think you must eat curry every couple of days from now on. Yum!

omg, the curry was FABOO! And now I'm going to pass out and have spicy, coconutcreamy dreams. [keep your mind in the gutter, wolfdog! :)]

It's doublewrapped in little plastic bags, peacay, so I'm rewrapping it carefully, and we'll hope for the best. I wonder if it would freeze well? Anyway, it was worth it, if only for this meal alone. Three thumbs up!
