Photo Friday! The theme is Alice in Wonderland, as suggested by lonefrontranger.
Click on all of these (excepting Alice... ;) to see the true size - they look a lot better.

Heh heh! I love those! :D The Humpty Dumpty one is brilliant, and the "Drink Me" one has such amazing colors. Awesome!

I call mine "The Mad Hatter vs. The White Rabbit":

LOVE.

I've seen these already, I cannot tell a lie. And they blew me away then and now! Hilarious. And gorgeously insane... hehe. So perfect! You are a creative and insane genius, m'dear.

I forgot to say that for all of these flickr photos, when you click on the link, you have to then click the link above the photo that says 'all sizes' to see the original size it was uploaded in. BP's have to be seen full size to be fully appreciated!

mine is fairly simple, but when I originally saw it, it was what inspired me to think of the Alice theme.

a fly agaric. North American fly agarics only make you sick, very sick, they don't have any psychotropic properties as do the European ones. This species, however, is rumoured to be the mushroom Carroll was using as the hallucinogen for Alice in the book. One of the common effects of it is to make everything look huge.

oh and check it out on my flickr stream... mecha, or perhaps my browser, seems to be joining in on the theme and distorting everything. this was cropped square originally to simulate having been shot on 120.

Eat Me.
(actually don't as these are very poisonous!)

Are you kidding - that's gorgeous! For some reason it's making me really hungry. Oh and I want to hear more about Naughty Schoolgirl ;)

wow I'm surprised that actually loaded. I only had about ten minutes this AM to do the post and MeCha chose right as I hit 'post' to decide to completely go belly up. I sighed, contributed some quarters to the Swear Jar, and took off for work.

iconomy the whole Naughty Schoolgirl theme apparently is going to have to be revisited. Suffice to say I lost a bet and had to dress up for my friends on the Denver Cruise a few weeks back. unfortunately my camera card corrupted and I spent 3 fruitless hours trying to pull down the data off it, with the pics. so I guess I'll have to re-do it.

there's an old thread here somewhere where I was asking for help with the costume. I think you even replied to it.

Not mine, but the one I immediately thought of when I saw the theme.

OMG, so wonderful, these!

Sorry folks... I cheated. I just couldn't manage an Alice-themed photo, so I did a collage.

taz that's wonderful! I don't think that's cheating so long as it's your creativity.

so many people on photographic sites snark about postprocessing, 'digital isn't real', bla bla bla. Now, I absolutely envy and admire iconomy's work, to the point where I've been attempting to learn how to get that 'xprocess' look with photoshop workflows. Digital works best for me because it's immediate and that suits my ADD temperament. I'm not about to go through the cost, the hassle, the time and the stench of learning how to process (or crossprocess) my own film, at least not right now. I'm still way too new at this. Most of the time I can't even figure out how to compose a shot or how the lighting should work (you should see how many captures of mine get binned... imagine the cost were this film!). So for now, I'll just let Photoshop be my darkroom.

I think it's all valid. There are too many purists who grief about 'getting it right in camera'. Hell even Ansel Adams postprocessed.

Flickr has some wonderful digital artistry pools. recently the 'out of bounds' pool has been getting lots of play.

Maybe stretching the theme a little bit?
This is my daughter at our wedding on Lake Tahoe. Everything was surreal at the wedding.

It's Alice falling down and down and down and down...it's perfect, down to the color of the dress.

I was too swamped at work today to check back in, but WOW! I love all of these! :) Every one of them. (dno, yours is DEFINITELY Through The Looking Glass, which kicks ass.)

These are so awesome, I love them!!! Y'all rock! I had an idea, but it involved a trip to the hardware store and fabrication time and . . and. . I lamed out. But these are GREAT and they make me happy, so yay to all the brilliant Alice photographers!

Man, some great pictures. I think this should be an ongoing theme since it's such a good one. That and it gives me a chance to come up with something. I had kind of a week this week. Good thing I have a great weekend planned! ;)
