I was just watching a segment on
Sunday Morning about a 28-year old writer
→[More:] who (for an experiment) lived in a retirement village for 6 months. This got me imagining the graying of our own generation. I'm picturing 'tramp stamp' tattoos on wrinkled flesh next to colostomy bags, gnarled knuckles furiously twitching on Nintendo pads, golden oldies stations sending Marilyn Manson's 'The Beautiful People,' out to Bob & Lorna on their 40th anniversary, weblogs about stewed fruits and incontinence products. I also have a vivid image of the Wino, Hugh Janus, Joe Famous, and myself sitting around a table playing canasta with our shorts hiked up to our neck carping about our organs while Slayer plays in the background.
It's a brave new world.
