Gay Americans & 9/11 Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, speaking about terrorism against the United States, asked:→[More:]

How do you deal with people who have no place on the planet for you?

But Senator Graham might as well have been speaking for the gay Americans, Americans Senator Graham's Party spares no opportunity to ostracize and marginalize. Even the gay victims of terrorism on 9/11:

The Rev. Lou Sheldon, chairman of the Traditional Values Coalition, a lobbying group, has criticized the drive to treat gay survivors as spouses.

"We feel that the homosexual agenda is trying to take advantage of the tragedy," he said, speaking from his offices in Anaheim, Calif. "We're treating them like they're married, and in doing that, we're destroying marriage because you're lowering it to a homosexual level."

damn, my recycled "gay agenda" joke was killed by the MetaChat error, and now I'm too petulant to rewrite it.

Suffice to say, my stinging wit would have brough the GOP to its knees!

Then there's good old Jerry Falwell, speaking a couple of days after the attacks:

"I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say 'you helped this happen.'"

Even at a time like that, while the whole country was hurting, he felt like some of us needed to be hurt just a little bit more.
