I got hired and fired this week. What did you do? :)→[More:] My hire-fire story isn't that exiting, I took a gig writing "blog type posts" on the topic of "online, viral and buzz marketing", like three or more a day for wee tiny bit of money for this new blog about to launch. Y'all know the drill. So I sent in all my link-prepped original-quotes from CEO's-laden, sarcastic wink-wink-nudge-nudgy news all week, and suddenly they ask for some changes..."the posts need to be a couple of paragraphs long. The first paragraph should be a summary, describing the main point of the article. That paragraph is going to be placed on the first page of (nameofsitehere), along with 8 of the other starting paragraphs of the day. It should not include any links in itself."... and I'm like, huh? That's no fun nor very bloggy so I recycled all my now rejected posts on my own adblog instead. And that was the end of it. ;)

I still waiting to get fired and/or laid off, yet I'm still here. Otherwise, I just sat around and drank beer. I also bought a celtic cross pendant (I'm wearing it in this photo). On monday, while I was shaving, the cross fell off, when I tried to put it back on the cross broke in half. They don't make metal like they used to.

wtf the cross broke? I'm sure that's an omen of some sort. It probably means (dum dum DUM) that you should quit buying stuff where you got that cross. ;P

I stressed out all week over a looming deadline next week, that I was making no progress on because of other people being slow and gumming up the works. This morning I came in and found out we're basically starting over from scratch, BUT our deadline has been extended by two or three weeks.

Stress gone, and a short Friday for me since there's not much I can do till the scripts are rewritten. Life is good.

Jon, you should take one half of the cross and glue it to half of one of those weird little gold peppers the ginzos like and really rep for all us half-breeds.

I'm fairly sure I didn't do anything this week, painted an office at work, which I suppose is something. Didn't sleep enough.

that you should quit buying stuff where you got that cross.

I got it on St. Marks Place, which, sadly, is the only place in New York you can get cheap punk rock jewelery and obscure band t-shirts.

I still haven't been able to find this there though, or these or this. Doomed by having obscure tastes.

Things have improved greatly at this end of the swamp from earlier this week. An article I was interviewed for was published Wednesday (& thanks to all you wise peeps who said it would happen). AND the person who has been the major cause of my angst apologized to me last night - it was a complete surprise and totally unsolicited which added to the sweetness.

BTW that city council meeting I missed led to an arrangement to have the mayor introduce our keynote speaker! :)

WTF, people hire people to write for blogs? I mean, I can see that for the Paris Hilton blog or something since, well, you know...

Everything is commercial.

That and I hate the word blog.
