This is a poor me I am sick post.... Let me say first that I love my brother but I am going to kill him because he gave me his cold. I am a snotty, sinus congested and hurting, running nose mess. OK, I just have to come in to work today and tomorrow and then I have the next 11 days off. I can do it! Yes I can! Ugh, I am going to drink some tea now.
I feel more holidayish now. Last night I gave a flock of geese, some chicks, some honey bees, and an extra $30 to Heifer International. It was in honor of my 3 older sisters and my late Mom & Dad. The holidays have felt way too commercial & superficial the older I get. Doing this warmed me up. :)
When are you supposed to call those Samaritans people? I have made a big screwup and am in a lot of trouble but I don't feel like killing myself. Have texted/emailed a few friends but everyone is busy and I'm too embarrassed to tell them how I am actually feeling.
This just hurts my heart The ash pond at the steam plant 2 miles from my parents house, where I grew up, "failed" last night sending ash and mud flooding nearly 250 acres.

Fifteen seconds is 5 bucks. I was doing a last second snipe bid on ebay tonight, and I forgot about the item. When I remembered and went back to it, there were 36 seconds, and no new bids. So I thought WTF, I'll just bid now instead of waiting the 15 seconds to when I'd normally bid. That gave the person bidding after me time to bid twice, costing me 5 bucks on a final price of 21 dollars. Sigh, at least I won.

jrossi, do you have detachable earlobes? Because I had a dream last night that you had detachable earlobes. I was polite and all and decided not to say anything to you about them because you were *definitely* trying to hide them behind your hair. Then it turned out that they were part of a hearing aid system, and let me tell you, I sure was glad I didn't say anything. Because that would have been sooooo embarrassing if I'd made fun of your detachable earlobes and really they were related to a disability. Whew.

I looked through the freezer for something to fix for dinner and found some frozen chicken breasts. Great! I put them in the sink to defrost and noticed that the sell-by date on the package was 9-1-07. So, that chicken has been in my freezer for more than a year.

insole middle-aged moment a few weeks ago. Well, long story short, the pain got so bad yesterday that I went to the emergency room today and I learned that I've been gallavanting around on a stress fracture of the bone behind my third toe for a couple of weeks. My foot's all wrapped up and I have crutches, I haven't quite got the hang of, but I also get a week off and an oxcodone scrip. God bless us, every one!

Stay Classy, NYPD Michael Mineo is accusing three NYPD officers of sexually assaulting him on a subway platform. During a courtroom appearance, a plainclothes officer taunted him with an anti-gay slur.
So I'm packing for a 1 month trip. I'll be carrying a messenger bag holding a camera and a laptop, a carry on bag containing a suit and I'm limited to only one checked bag that will max out at around 35 lbs. I'm gonna do laundry while away but does anyone have tips on how to maximize what I should bring?
three point update: 1. I am now an EMPLOYED BUNNY. I work at a local, very established, florist shop, behind the counter mostly (altho they do let me "process flowers" i.e., unpack em, clip em and get 'em ready for the floral designers)....I have been working there for just over a week and already I think I will be giving jonmc a run for his money with the stories.
