What's more fun than sorting a stack of medical records?
Having nothing better to do, filing the medical records, pulling them all out again, throwing them on the floor and filing them again. To look busy. And prove helper monkey maximum utilization.
More fun = explaining to the nurse that the record that was sent to the neurologist should, in the neurologist's opinion, also be conveyed to the cardiologist, but that this is not an actual failure of communication, merely a late decision of the neurologist, and is unrelated to the nurse's inability to reach the neurologist for three hours yesterday, because I'm calling from the cardiologist's service and not the neurologist's (although technically that's untrue because we also cover for the neurologist, but if they think we get to yell at him for not calling back in a timely manner, all I can say is: NUTS.)
