Does anybody besides me (and just about every male friend I've asked) love this commercial? Yeah, I know it's based in gender stereotypes and all that stuff, but it does it pretty hilariously.[More:] Plus it really makes me crave Arby's, but the nearest location is waaay the hell out in Elmhurst. Drat.
yeah, I now have a fierce arby's craving. dammit jonmc.

heh he got a hat-on.

This is the first I've ever seen it! (I wonder if it's not running on the west coast? I'm often surprised by which ads are limited to being regional, even for national brands or chains.) The hat-on made me lol.

It's the little sound effect (*boing!*) that puts it over the line, methinks.

Jonmc, not only am I walking distance from Sonic, but Arby's is just right around the corner.

Jamocha shakes, people-jamocha shakes...

I'd never seen it before, but I loved it. And I didn't think I would.

The boing sells it for me. It took me years to finally realize that I just don't like Arbys. I used to crave Arby's but then when I'd go, I'd always end up disappointed. The beef just tastes....a little wrong. Maybe I'm just spoiled having so many choices for a good Italian beef.

I don't eat people, not even in shakes, not even in hyphenated shakes.

The commercial's compelling because she's really really cute in a commercially under-utilized way. Well, to me.

The sides are good, though. (and I think the ad also speaks to a rather common male fantasy: just about every straight male has a crush on a waitress or countergirl. As author Tim Sandlin puts it "single men will fall in love with any woman who brings them food.")

I've been to Arby's twice and both times I got violently ill afterword.

I don't go to Arby's no more.

This one's better.

That commercial has been playing here in the backwoods of Kansas for quite some time, and yes I think it's cute. My husband and son are huge fans of Arby's, but the only thing I can stomach is their Potato Cakes... Mmmm... Deep Fried Hashbrown Triangles... With Horsey Sauce!... They are surely God's gift to fast food.

This reminds me - they tease us with Sonic ads in Chicagoland, even though THERE ARE NO SONICS HERE! Meanies.

How funny that you should bring this (ahem) up. My husband, who generally hates commercials with the heat of a thousand suns, saw this the other day and actually liked it. It's the first time he has ever liked an advertisement. He also loves Arbys. I'm a bit meh, but I do like the ad.

"Horsey Sauce" is - it could just be me - a very problematic name for a condiment.

Those are national commercials. Unless they change their business model, I doubt they'll make it up to Chicagoland; they are drive-ins with no indoor seating (at least 99% of them are). They are as plentiful as weeds here in Fort Worth and... delicious.

;-P

You're a cruel, cruel man, Doohickie. (want Sonics! :(

I never did see an ad work so quickly on anyone. Without pause, as soon as the commercial ended, Jon's eyebrows went up: "I have a wicked craving for Arby's. I think there's one in Queens somewhere..."

We have a Sonic's here in town. I had it once when I guy at work brought it in. Not that good. I'll trade Sonics for a Trader Joe's out here any day.
