26 December 2008

I found Cheerwine at my grocery store! This is awesome! (It's a soda, not a wine...) I'm drinking one now, and it brings back memories of road trips when I was a kid, and we'd find Cheerwine being sold at little gas stations and diners around the southeast.
Yay! I have fond memories of Cheerwine, too. You could never get it in Alabama, but my folks often visited friends in South Carolina and would bring a case back with them.

That and Sun Drop!

You know, I still haven't tried a Sun Drop.

I was looking for Red Rock ginger ale when I found the Cheerwine... drinking Red Rock at your house has me craving them now. My liquor store sells them in six-pack bottles, but I haven't seen any of the 12-pack cans anywhere.

OMG, I'm going to Athens over MLK weekend. I should take you some sundrop and cheerwine. I think you're in atlanta, right?

I am, stew! It'd be great to meet you when you're here.

Cheerwine is one of the best. Avoid diet Cheerwine though, it's horrible.

No, nononononono! Diet Cheerwine rocks, too. In fact, it rocks more because I don't get a sugar high/crash (unlike right now, thanks to some tea i just had).

BP--i go to atlanta all. the. time. If it looks like this will be a combo atlanta/athens trip (rather than just athens, or rather 30 miles outside of athens on a farm), I'll let ya know. And if it is just athens, my friend lives right up 20 from atlanta, so maybe we could pick a town midway?

after all, you deserve some sundrop.

Man, I didn't get to try Cheerwine when I was in NC this November! The BF isn't a fan (he has a distinct lack of sweet tooth) and didn't mention it until the end of our trip.

ecc, you deserve some, too!

btw, when I did an all local diet a few years ago, i replaced a diet coke habit with diet cheerwine. Cheating? Probably!

Yuck.

But while we are on the topic, you guys need to try some Blenheim's ginger ale. I think that's fairly local as well...

When I was in NC I saw Cheerwine bottles by the side of the road, and even took photos of one, but I never tried it. I'm not much of a Soda fan. If I'm back that way, I'll give it a try.

I will gladly trade a thirsty 12 oz. can of Moxie (Maine's local soda) for a galloping 12 oz. can of Cheerwine or Sun Drop.

I think Cheerwine and Sun Drop are the next big Elephant 6 bands...

Pine State Biscuits on Belmont in Portland has Cheerwine. I haven't tried it but I do love getting heart disease at that place.

/me tries to wrap mind around world without Cheerwine in every little store, fails.

BoPo -- it's BUFFALO Rock Ginger Ale.

And to everyone who hasn't tried it, it's AWESOME. I'll put it up against Blenheim's or Vernor's any other ginger ale. It is so gingery it'll scour white off rice.

If you like a pale, pallid, watery ginger ale -- don't try Buffalo Rock. It's strong stuff.
