Finally got 4 and 7. Gave up on #6 and peeked at sysinfo's answers. But, I still don't see the pattern (or the icing on the cake).

OK, just got home and the icing on the cake was staring right at me. Wow, brain must have been half-fried earlier today. Thanks, Wolfdog! (I still like my initial guess, though.)
