I always get excited whenever I think anybody reads my site. I should get out and do some publicity for it or something!

It's funny how the little things can make you so damn happy. My "blog" is really just a jump page for me and my go-to links, but I occasionally post sketchbook doodles and pictures of my cats & kittens (not very prolific - less than 100 posts in 4 years). But one day I saw somebody had me in their blogroll and for a few minutes I felt like a publisher or something.

Later I set up Google Analytics, which I'm ashamed to say I now check 2 or 3 times a week, and I get a little giddy whenever it looks like more than 30 people clicked on my blog for some reason. I'm still fascinated with the Analytics Map Overlay, and wonder why suddenly I got 3 hits from Sweden or why someone in Singapore stopped by. It always makes me want to more actively blog...at least for a few days. I'd like to think those are real people hitting the blog, but I'm pretty sure that they're just web crawlers of some other techie thing I know nothing about.
