Good news goes here -------> →[More:]

1. I'm now an engaged puppie. We got rings and we wear them.

2. But hell, forget that, because I just got an email from my mom. She had a doctor's appointment this morning and found out that the freakish pulmonary disease she had is GONE. WHOOP! The heart surgery she had 14 months ago did the trick. And now she can stop taking the meds that were costing $3,000 a month. The email she sent to me and my brother ended "How lucky I am to have had your dad at my side."

3. GF's grandma had a stroke last week and was not doing well, but a huge dose of steroids two days ago now have her sitting up in a chair and reading the NYT.

I am sorry if this seems too in-your-face to people who are having a shitty day. I was just really excited about my mom.

Yay for mudpuppie! I have been telling everyone that "My online friend got engaged! You don't know her but she's awesome and she raises chickens!"

1. All the people I've asked to write reccomendation letters stepped up and got them done super-fast, even though I didn't give them any advance notice and didn't send them information like my resume until today! The due date! I love them!

2. My really good friend J. has gone on a ton of dates with this girl and they're really hitting it off. I like her a lot and she makes killer chipotle brownies!

3. My other friends B. and M. are getting engaged soon and they're the sweetest couple ever.

Overall, I've had a really shitty week/month, but it's nice to think about the blessings sometimes.

1. Just found out that I didn't completely tank my audition a couple of weeks ago while sick, and have been cast in the chorus of Iolanthe. As a fairy, of course. Anticipating lots of geeky musical fun.

Yay mudpuppie!

1) my friend's second embryo transplant has left her pregnant! These were her last two fertilized eggs, and though she's quite happy that she (finally, eventually) had her first little one, she really wants a second. Think good thoughts that the pregnancy is a healthy one. The first time ended up in twins (identical, randomly!), but they died in utero at about month 6 and she had to deliver them stillborn. Ugh. The second pregnancy resulted in her cute and healthy boy, and now these next two eggs...let's just hope it works the right way!

2) I'm embroiled in a very interesting mystery. Yesterday while I was out, someone left a note on my porch in sharpie on napkin for me. "Happy 86 cents day!" "I luv your new hair!" and "It buys a lot of good stuff" was the note, and piled on top were seven dimes, two nickles, and six pennies.

3) My work day was stressful and now it's OVER!

Also, I just got this email from a little boy who lost his dog last weekend. I emailed the dog's picture out to the neighborhood listserv.

DEAR STEW,
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP. CINNAMON IS NOW BACK HOME WITH US. WE FOUND HIM AT THE APS, NOW HE IS SAFE AND WARM WHERE HE BELONGS. THANKS A MILLION FOR ALL YOUR HELP TO FIND CINNAMON.

I had a lovely work xmas dinner at a very fancy French restaurant, and am now happy and bloated (and just a wee bit tipsy). Buuuurp.

Yay for engagements and dogs and reconnections and celebrations and yay!

I can't think of any particularly good news, but I had a very productive, reasonably happy day. Which I'm not used to in the winter, because I get mopey and depressed when it's rainy and dark, so today felt like an accomplishment, of sorts.

Oh, actually, what was good was that I had a very weird therapy session with a client last week, in which I was convinced that I had somehow really screwed up, because the whole thing just felt super-weird, but when I was relating the story of the session in supervision, all the other interns and supervisors were nodding their heads like, "Of course you said that, that's what I would have said, too," and that was very reassuring. So, yay, helpful supervision session!
