Oh, I scored a Schiaperelli 1938 faux-turtleshell purse off e-bay (cheap! £40) a few years ago and I'm too scared to use it, it's so gorgeous. It will be an heirloom for my kids, and sit in the cupboard in the meantime. Mine doesn't have an attached lipstick or Dali association, though!

I would totally be tempted if we were still a two-income family (which we are currently, sadly, not). Go for it, if you can! Think of it as a piece of fashion and/or surrealist history, and thus an investment.

I totally can't afford it. I just window shop on auctions though, I have bid on a space invaders screen, a purple couch, a bright gold bed, a a porcelin spice holder kitchen set and a "flytande blå" antique sink and lost. I did however score a beautiful english hand painted sink, a diningroom set and my lovely Rosenthal coffee cup set designed by Tapio Wirkkalafor very affordable prices so window shopping and snipe-bidding pays off. ;)
