You and me both. I feel awful.

The annoying thing is that exactly the same happened last year. I came down with a cold at about this time and it killed xmas for me.

Yay for me and my annual christmas gift.

With my heart such as it is, a bad cold or the flu puts me in the hospital. As a result, I have become a chronic hand washer.

My broken foot bone will keep me out of commission another three weeks. My percocet prescription is done, but on the bright side that means I can drink beer again.

I, too, am ill. My mother travelled five thousand miles to watch me lie on the couch and blow my nose. *sigh*

Ah shit, my cardiologist didn't like something in my chart and scheduled me for a cath lab Monday morning. That puts me out of commission for 10 days and probably means I am stuck here through March. Sometimes it seems I am never going to escape the South. My only hope is that they have come up with a quicker recovery method over the last two years.

One of my immutable, time-honored holiday tradition is A Nasty Cold For Christmas! I think this is because I work with college students; they all go home for Thanksgiving, pick up whatever viruses are swirling around those locales, bring them back to campus, and then throng into my office, streaming with germs and snot, and often end up using my keyboard and mouse (sort of inevitable during registration frenzy).

(At least since I quit smoking this doesn't usually segue into that other grand tradition, Bronchitis For Christmas!)

I'm not sick at the mo (though based on my current winning streak I'm sure to be struck soon) but I have been craving that tucked-in-on-the-couch-with-a-pillow-and-blanket-from-your-bed sick-day thing from childhood.

Awww, poor sickums - hugs from afar and chicken soup for you all. I'm feeling good for the first time in a week after the bloody norovirus, which is why my Mecha cards might be a bit late for some of you - I couldn't be that far from the toilet for long enough to go to the post office 150m away. But, er, don't worry - I used hand sanitiser (my new constant companion) before I started writing the cards!

Anyway, hope you all feel better soon.

The mister gave me his flu. Seems to last about 10 days. I'm on day four and I'm ready to kill him.

Since writing it, I have not had a single cold. That's exactly 6 more days to a full year. I usually get a cold/flu 3-4 times a year.
