Shatner is doing a talk show! He's already proved that he can't act in any role besides Kirk (to say nothing of his other media attempts, like singing), so what makes people think that this will work? [More:]Nimoy will be a guest on the premiere, of course...
Shatner Gets 'Raw'

I guess we'll get to see the Captain's Log.

Also, according to the Biography channel, Kevin Pollock is Shatner's "favorite" Shatner impersonator.

Shatner later said: "the pauses, the dragged out sentences ... I get it. But I don't talk like that!"

Pollak. (Spelled both ways equally on Google results.)

Shatner can't act the way Dylan can't sing.

Ardiril has it. It's certainly not a realistic acting style by any means, but it has its uses. I think time has proven that space opera was one of them.

I think he does pretty good on Boston Legal, but, from what I understand, the character is basically Bill Shatner, a self-absorbed, megalomaniac. It seems to be a good fit for him.

Howard Stern used to play a clip of him during an audiobook reading taking a producer to task over the pronunciation of a word. His pronunciation of the word was quite odd, but he refused to do it any other way.

"You say (good pronunciation). I say (bad pronunciation)."

AH! It was "Sabotage." And here's the clip. (Warning: Flash.)

Anyway, at this stage of his life he has said on a few occasions that he really don't care anymore what people think about his acting. I believe him! :-) The dude 7-over 9000 years old.

Shatner is doing a talk show!

This has fail written all over it. But his album with Ben Folds was great. He's good at self-parody.

oh c'mon Shatners singing rules!

Never was a Star Trek fan. To me, it was bad actors running around in pj's spouting bad dialogue. But, when Shatner started poking fun at himself, first in SNL Trekkie sketches, then in commercials, then in Boston Legal, I've really enjoyed his work.

Although I agree with DarkForest, that Shatner isn't really suited for talk-show host, I'll be rooting for him. (Albeit from afar, as I don't get cable.)
