Yikes!

We're fine... Our neighborhood is quite tucked away, and completely out of all that action (not so our old place in Thessaloniki, where we occasionally had to close windows against the teargas). In fact, I didn't have the television on at all the last couple of days, and didn't even know about it all until V. told me.

I'm kind of afraid to venture out and see what has been wrought. Here's someone's flickr photo of part of Ermou street at Monasteraki Square... Our landlady's small shop is directly opposite that burned-out building, and we haven't talked to her; I hope her place is okay. Our original schedule was to go there tomorrow to pay the rent. I guess we'll see.
