15 December 2008

I had a date it went really well![More:]
It was going to be just coffee. Turned into coffee, dinner, a movie, and video games. And then we hung out again the next day. And we have dinner plans for tomorrow.

I really dig this guy, and it seems like the feeling is mutual.

and, we both have very similar circumstances with regards to fist marriages, so the thing that usually scares guys away from me is a total non issue because he's been through the same shit. (hell, just the fact that I have a first marriage at all scares a lot of guys)

I'm pretty happy about the whole thing, but trying not to get in too deep too fast since he and his wife split less than a year ago, and I don't want to be reboundgirl.
Cool!

Are flowers blooming when you pass by? I bet they do.

Movie? Video games? What'd you watch/play?

we saw the zach and miri make a porno, since one of the first things we had talked about online (met on okcupid) was our mutual love of kevin smith and that neither of us had seen it yet. Which may not have been the best of ideas for a first date. Particularly since I have a male roommate and that has caused issues in the past with guys. But, it seems OK.
We went to dave and busters for a bit (kind of like chuck e cheese but with beer and for adults), and then we went to my place for super smash brothers, since I just got it for the wii.

Ooh, 'let's go to my place for Super Smash Bros,' that's awesome.

is that what the kids call it these days?

just kidding, congrats and good luck.

That sounds really great, kelly.

YAY! Good luck kelly, I hope it all works out well for you.

But did you think the ending sucked? I was quite disappointed.

Exciting! I'm glad it is working out so well for you!
My best friend and I both recently met really great guys too, it seems to be the season for it or something!

Did you stay put for the credits? Not one of his best, but I didn't hate it.

No, no, it really was super smash brothers.
...Until my roommate noticed us scooting closer and closer on the couch, and announced loudly that he was going to shut himself in his room to watch cartoons and go to bed. (my roommate? awesome guy.)

My only worry now is that his birthday is this weekend, so I have the whole "should I get him something, and if so what?" connundrum. Not to mention xmas.

A cupcake and a card should just about cover the birthday.

Ardiril is right about the birthday. It's acknowledging it, but not going overboard.

good call. I was thinking dinner, but that may be better.

Yay! I met someone on okcupid recently too, and her birthday was around our third date. I made her a mix CD. That went over well: nice gesture, no monetary expenditure.

(That was also the same date that, just as we were having an awesome time at a concert, I fainted. Dead away. She very sweetly came to the emergency room with me, and all continues to go well.)

That's a great idea bassjump!

Nice to hear people are lucky in love at the moment - I'm in a boring phase where there isn't even anyone I have a slight crush on. Boo.
