My sister is expecting her third child on the 5th. My four-year-old neice thinks that if it's a boy, they should name it "Tyrone."
Why not? I think it's a great name, very ancient-Irish.

p.s. My brother was born when I was five, and I suggested that they name him "Morris." You know, after the cat, who I thought was pretty cool.

I still wish they had, it would've been a cool name and fit him quite well.

Well, it would match poorly with his very Lebanese sounding last name, for one. I'm just wondering where this four year old up in Maine got the idea.

My great-grandfather, who's middle name is my first name, was from County Tyrone in Ireland.

When we were kids, my cousin and I were recording fake news shows to play for our parents (to amuse them, we were very giving children) and my cousin was pretending to be famous for something and I was pretending to interview her. And she said that when she got around to having children, she was going to name them "Oglethorpe" and "Tricot Mesh".

Every time a celebrity has a baby and names it, I am reminded of this and I smile at how prophetic my 8 year old cousin was thirty years ago.

They should only name him Tyrone if he has six fingers on his right hand.

For some reason, I dated a lot of Western PAians in college and therefore ended up taking the train out that way a lot. There's a town out near Altoona called Tyrone, so whenever I see that name I automatically pronounce it like a train conductor. TyyyyRONE!!

Tyrone Power was one of Hollywood's most handsome stars of the 40s and 50s. He could do worse than being named after him.

There was a cute boy in my 4th grade class named Tyrone. Or was it Carlton? I can't remember, and I don't have a yearbook. He had that old-school Will Smith haircut.

Best dog I ever had was a Scottie named Tyrone.

Tyrone's a great name. What could be wrong with it?
