Found a stray bunny tonight! [More:]So I am down in Atlanta visiting a friend from college, and we were on our way to her high school reunion when we saw a white flash by the side of the road.

We realized it was a bunny and it looked really scared, so after a little pleading (we were already late), I got her to turn around and go look for it.

It was hopping around like it was lost on the sidewalk strip of grass near an abandoned lot, and was obviously a pet and not a wild one. I got out of the car and followed it around slowly, but he was scared of me and wouldn't let me get too close. After a minute or two, a car passed by and he was freaked out and crouched down, so I picked him up and brought him to the car.

He is white with black eyeliner and black ears and black spots on his butt. I have provisionally named him Cow. He is very calm now and chose to sit on my lap in the car instead of on the seat. He's upstairs in the bathroom munching on some carrots.

I kind of want to take him back to NY with me, but I don't know how he will get along with The Senator. My friend has a cat and can't have another pet, so we are thinking of giving him to her friend's mom who loves animals.

I'm so glad I found him! He was cold and wet (it is raining) but otherwise looks healthy. He has good clean fur with no patchy spots and seems to have been neutered. He's so nice!
Awww poor little bunny! Lucky he found you (^_^).

Can you ask at your local SPCA shelter if someone has reported a lost bunny? He might have escaped and run away, frightened by all the excitement of Christmas going on in his house, and someone might be distraught right now thinking he's been eaten by coyotes or something.

Also, this thread is useless, etc...

House Rabbit Society in Ga, in case you can't get a friend/parent/known person to take the bun.

You're very good hearted, rmless... I hope I meet someone like you if I'm ever left wandering the side of the road.

I found a puppy wandering around yesterday. I called him over to me and he was very friendly. Then a Volkswagon pulled up and a very relieved woman got out. "Is this yours?" "Yes! :)"

That's the end of my story. Thanks for reading.

This past spring a friend of mine who works for the parks department found a rabbit abandoned at her park. She brought him to a vet for a checkup - he suffers from something that requires medicine (I'm sorry I don't know exactly what) so that could be why he was dumped. But it's a very happy ending - she tells me he's a very loving and sweet bunny, and she's glad she found him.

Update:
Talked to the Humane Society and the HOuse Rabbit Society and in the end, my friend's friend's mom wanted him, so we went to the store and bought him a cage, litterbox, litter, food, etc and dropped him off this afternoon!
He seemed very happy and was rolling around and nuzzling us.
When I talked to the HRS, they said that he probably was abandoned and that no one tends to claim rabbits that have been put out :(
Glad he is in a good home now!

On the next occasion that you find a bun, call ROAD TRIP! and we'll take him/her. :D

Will do, sakura!
He's quite happy with his new owners, it seems. They keep calling me to ask about bunny behavior, but it's all good things that show he is playing.
