However-many Point Gratitude Thread. I'm currently thankful for: [More:]
1) Drinks and dinner with chewie this afternoon,
2) MeFriends in general (that looks like McFriends, but that's not what I mean.)
3)Having family willing to buy me a last-minute ticket home to visit them,
4)My job, which pays the bills and is mostly rewarding.
5)Adopted family (i.e. a friend from high school's parents) that are within driving distance and that will take me in for the holidays with less than one-day's notice.

You?
1. Health
2. Financial stability
3. Health of my family
4. My sweet, sweet children.
5. My awesome job.
6. My great co-workers.
7. Beautiful weather.
8. My dear friends.
9. My wonderful sister that listens to all of my bullshit with compassion.
10. My wonderful husband that puts up with my bullshit and still loves me and never complains.

Oh, I forgot I'm also grateful for butter, eggnog, orange marmalade, and good crunchy bread.

- That my computer still works, even though it's less convenient to be tethered to a desk and monitor.

- For Mecha xmas cards, always making my day! F'real.

- For my friends Laura, Rachael and Rose, who seem to actually like me (?!?!!?)

- For my drums. Holy lord. I am enjoying them so much these days. (I still plug my ibook into the PA to play along to music, I just have to make sure that itunes is loaded, prepped on a playlist and paused before I leave the house, since I won't be able to do anything with it without the screen!)

- For my sewing machine, which my mother left with me when she came to visit me about four years ago. It's a heavy metal Kenmore from the 70s and should live forever. Now that I've actually figured out some aspects of how to use it (bought a PDF manual online) it's a real pleasure to use and I find myself planning projects constantly (though rarely carrying them out).

- For my apartment, my phone, my internet, and my electricity, none of which have been taken away from me (though I am keenly aware that if things get really bad they could be -- making me appreciate them all the more.)

- For MeCha, where I feel comfortable knowing that I can be either bummed or psyched, a frequent visitor or distracted, and still be welcome.

- For my kitties. I mean, come on.

6. Friends who are willing to help you scour the internet to find entertaining articles for said work project. I'm sure the boys are going to get a giggle out of some of my test article choices. (Lovely translation project.)

1. My health. Nothing like having a tumor out of your body to make you appreciate your health, even though it's been almost a year and a half now.

2. My bf, who invited me to spend Christmas in Missouri with his family, and who has been putting up with all my "I'm a Jew at Christmas freakouts."

3. My family, who are always there to lend a supportive ear, and sometimes a well-timed check in the mail.

4. My pain-in-the-ass of a cat, who I love even though he's hell bent on destroying everything breakable in the house.

5. The people on this site, who gave me whuffles and good wishes when I was really having a hard time. Hard time isn't over yet, but knowing there are people who care about a stranger on the internet is heartwarming.

...living in a city in which all musicians eventually perform, but especially tonight: I saw an operatic adaptation of a 500-year-old Chinese novel, performed in Mandarin, with equal elements of Chinese and western opera, and aerials, trickery and magic worthy of Cirque du Soleil, evoking a favourite TV show of my childhood, produced by a famous pop star and absolutely fucking brilliant. I am very grateful to live in London!
