Christmas is here! [More:]
It's almost 2am here, so already Christmas. I just got home, and it's been a very long day. I was working from home today, and put in a full day, from 7am to nearly 2.30pm without a break. I'd planned on having a nap, but couldn't, as is always the way when you want one.

I went to a dance this evening, saw lots of friends I hadn't seen in ages. The music was good, all oldies (unlike last year, when the DJ decided to play hip-hop all night so nobody could dance) and I danced my little legs off.

Then a friend and I went to the midnight service at St Mary's in Walthamstow. Now I am not a believer in any shape or form, but I do like singing carols, and our very own chrismear was playing the organ - most awesomely too, I might add.

The roads on the way home were quiet, which seems to make other drivers want to go far too fast, but, heh, if you get stuck behind me, you do the speed limit, as I do.

Happy Christmas bunnies one and all.
*whuffles*!

Merry Christmas! My better half's sleeping in and there are carols on TV on the morning show, and we had a nice Christmas dinner of steak and potatoes last night and watched a double feature of Midnight Cowbow and Apocalypse Now (strangely comforting movies this time of year -- I found them for $12.99 each at Blockbuster this week, a Christmas present from beyond). Jon's family's up in Maine with his sister and her husband and their three children, one of whom's only a few week's old, so we're on our own today, which is just fine (I'm very, very tired). Egg nog may be on the agenda for later.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I just walked home from my in-laws'. They live about a mile and a half away. I've been over there since noon. It didn't look like we were living anytime soon. I used the excuse that my dog was home alone, and I needed to help my sister out because she is recovering from surgery, which is all true. My in-laws would have us stay there until midnight if they had their way. My god, there is only so much I can take. I walked home and felt a ton of wine and food sloshing in my stomach. It was good I walked, though. I needed to burn some calories.
