Bill Cunningham New York is a great documentary. If you enjoyed it here is some neat news. Read more...
oh hi! this place still exists! In the past year fell in love with a wonderful woman I've known for years. I thought I was pretty gay until that happened. Now I'm hella gay plus hella bi!

It's been a rough time for obvious terrible presidentially-related reasons. I've occasionally ventured back here way less than I should have.

Ya'll are the best and totally wonderful! Happy LGBT Pride month/weekend!

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away... OK so just across the border in the U. S. of A., TV stations had this creepy 'Do you know where your children are?' thing going on.
I've been away for a few days.

Thoughts On a New MetaChat Since there's been a push this month to reinvigorate the site, I'm wondering if there's any interest in an upgrade/move. I know this came up a couple of years ago.

Anthony Bourdain and the role of cinema in his food shows. I just read this a couple of nights ago. I've always loved the movie references in his shows and the fact that food was always an entry point into stories about people and places those people live in.

OMG bunny! Snapped on this afternoon's walk.
House stories? We are house hunting, and found a lovely one, but the inspection was super scary, so we are looking again.

I am a little discouraged (although I shouldn't be - we have plenty of time! This is normal!) and would love to hear house stories, if anyone has them.

This child vs. a pigeon should dispel any doubts you had about Hobbes' declaration that life in the state of nature is 'nasty, brutish and short'.

It's rants all the way down. but here is a mildly amusing peek at MeFi history.

Ok, so many things to rant about, but I'll just pick 2 that are related. Why do prepared Asian-ish meals have to have cooked red peppers and edamame? How about some cabbage or onions for crunch, color, and the ability to say there are vegetables in your garlic chicken? Broccoli, green beans, those are nice. But nooooooo, cooked red peppers, diced small so they're difficult to remove, and green soy beans.

What is ubiquitous that you hate? Other than Kathie Lee Gifford. Not fair, everybody doesn't like Kathie Lee. Read more...
