#BabysFirstAmazon: interesting thing I saw on Twitter. What's the first thing you ever ordered from Amazon?
Mine is 'Baraka', the documentary (or poetic film) by Ron Fricke. Good taste, paste me! Great scene.

On my current account? The Pauper's Cookbook. The oldest purchase that I kept an email about was a replacement battery for a 2nd generation Roomba, but I dumped my pre-2005 mail archives.

Last time I dealt with Amazon was in 1998. I'll guess the first thing I bought was a textbook.

Oh good god, it was apparently "Learning Gnu Emacs" in 1998. I assume it's still somewhere in a box in my garage.

Amazon says I ordered The Common Years [Paperback] by Cooper, Jilly in 2002. I have no recollection of this and cant find it on my shelves. Lovely book, a friend gave it to me, so no idea why I would have ordered it.

I was in college, and apparently it was "Buzzed : The Straight Facts About the Most Used and Abused Drugs from Alcohol to Ecstasy". I only made two orders that year, and the other was "Herbal Remedies in Pots", which I actually still have and still have not put together a pot with herbal remedies growing in it.

Also, the thought of a year with only two Amazon orders is pretty amazing.
