I always thought of great uncles as old. →[More:]
I can remember my great aunts and uncles. They were always old, as long as I could remember. And they just got older.

Well today, my niece had a baby. So I am now one of those old great uncles.

I always thought of grandparents as being old people, then I became one. A little dose of reality, in my case.

I've been a great uncle since I was 41. My niece is not great at making life choices but she does have some charming sons.
